Based on the bafflingly successful TV show, Sean Kelly’s Storage Hunters is a 5 reel, 20 payline slot from Core Gaming. It comes with a bonus round that awards 5 free spins on a new 5×5 reel set where winning combinations can be created vertically as well as horizontally. Start the bidding from 20p to £500 per spin.

We’ve been pretty complimentary about the design of Core Gaming slots before but Sean Kelly’s Storage Hunters is a bit of a clunker as far as visuals go as the imagery here is blocky and basic. The plain black reels feature playing cards as well as padlocks, keys and other storage related paraphernalia. As usual, the wild is the symbol you really want to see, especially as it can expand and turn the whole of the reel wild when it lands.

The chief attraction here is the Free Spins feature which is triggered by landing the bonus symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5 on the same spin. You’ll then be taken to a new screen that’s made up of a 5 reel, 5 row machine set and awarded 5 free spins. Winning lines can be created by landing combinations up and down as well as from the more usual left to right.

From within the free spins, you can also land the Bonus Auction feature – here you can choose to accept the number of extra free spins awarded, open a shutter to reveal a value from the left or right of the door or opt to play the Auction. Here you’ll be given the pick of 3 offers which you can choose to accept.

We still can’t quite fathom how lock ups full of tat have become a global TV phenomenon, let alone how they’ve spawned an online slot. But here we are.

This isn’t one of Core Gaming’s better efforts. The design isn’t up to the developer’s usual high standards and the features don’t quite make up for the lack of visual flair. If you’re a fan of the TV show, then by all means take a look. If you’re not a fan, this slot won’t win you over. I would much rather play other Core Gaming titles with Carry On Camping recommended.
