Worms Slot Review

Worms is a slot game with 50 paylines. The slot is based on the PC game that became a huge hit with gamers in the mid to late 90s. The military, grenade throwing worms have been brought to life by Blueprint Gaming and the original creators of the game, Team 17. The stake amount ranges from 50p a spin to £100 a spin.

Worms is a game you will really like as it has the multi-level Worms Bonus feature. You can initiate this by getting 3 Crate Bonus scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4. Once in, you need to choose a bonus crate where you will gain access to 1 of 3 bonus features.

If you reveal the Angry Scot Worm, you will gain access to the Crate Escape Bonus game. This is a classic ‘pick me’ style feature where you can choose crates to reveal a cash prize, first aid kit or weapon. A weapon will reduce your worm’s health whilst the first aid kit replenishes your worm’s health. The bonus round continues until your worm’s health runs out. If you’re lucky, you can win up to 100 times your stake which is very good.

If you reveal the Space Worm, you will enter the Space Trail Bonus game. Here you choose a toolbox with the aim of advancing your worm along the space trail. ‘Teleport’ will transport your worm to a random position higher up the trail. Weapons are not good as your worm will come under attack. If your worm takes a hit, the bonus round ends. Again, you can win up to 100 times your stake.

Last by not least there is the Free Spins Battle Bonus feature which is accesses by revealing the Drill Sergeant Worm. Look out for the Battle Worms as they appear on the middle reel (reel 3) with varying consequences. The Pirate Worm depletes your health whilst the Medi-Worm restores it. The Drill Sergeant Worm gives you a bonus win though.

There is no set amount of free spins (in other words, they are unlimited) but they will cease once your Worm’s health is reduced to zero. You will also be happy to read that lots of super stacked wilds appear during the free spins – this can dramatically help your payout.

Worms is a good slot game to be fair with rewarding bonus features. I personally like it due to the fact it takes me back to the PC game which I loved and played for hours. One thing to note, don’t expect access to the bonus features very often. I suggest you be patient though as the win amounts are decent and worth it. I would say it’s medium variance but saying that I prefer Blueprint Gaming’s flagship title, Zuma.
