Trigger Happy uses a 5×5, cascading reels game grid. Create winning combinations by landing clusters of 5 or more matching symbols or wilds. After a winning cluster hits, the successful symbols are blasted off the grid and replaced by new ones. These cascades continue as long as a winning cluster is on display.

Target Wilds

On each spin, a target moves to a new position on the reels. The symbols that land in that position turn into a wild.

Bonus Panel Extras

Below and to the left of the main reels are the Bonus Panels. These spin alongside the main reels and contain blanks, multipliers, bombs and coins. Symbols in the Bonus Panel that align with the target on the reels trigger their associated reward.

Multipliers

If there’s a multiplier figure directly below or directly to the left of the target, the value of the multiplier is activated. Better still is if there are multipliers on both Bonus Panels as they’re combined for an even bigger payout boost. For example, a pair of 3x multipliers delivers a 9x boost. Multipliers in the Bonus Panel are worth 2x, 3x and 5x.

Bombs

BTG are renowned for producing some great slots with explosive payouts, and this is another one. It might not reach the dizzy heights of some other releases, but the gameplay is fun and the 50,000 x bet max win potential is very generous.

With its colourful critters, Trigger Happy looks like a rather cute and cuddly slot at first glance. Dig below the surface though and there’s some pretty feisty action on offer here. The volatility is very high but so too is the 50,000 x stake max win and the better-than-average return to player rate of 96.58%.

With the Bonus Panel triggers, the gameplay in Trigger Happy offers something a little different too. It can be a bit of a frustrating experience but when the extras in both panels combine with the target it can deliver some top action. That’s also the case in the free spin round with the pair of targets and enhanced multipliers.

Big Time Gaming has a reputation for creating innovative slots and they’ve done it again with Trigger Happy. It might not quite hit the bullseye but I’m happy to take aim at Trigger Happy.
