Monopoly Bring The House Down is powered by Barcrest and has 5 reels, 4 rows and 40 paylines – it can be played from 10p to £500 a spin across desktop, mobile and tablet devices. Based on the iconic board game brand, it comes with 5 bonuses features including Hot Zones.

Visually, Monopoly Bring The House Down looks great – with the Monopoly board in the background, the plain black reels include low value playing cards (A, K, Q, J and 10) as well as tokens from the board game. You have the car, dog, ship and cat. The green house is the wild symbol which rewards you with 20 times your stake for 5 across a payline.

On each spin, Hot Zone Wild patterns spin additionally to the reels – look out for any Hot Zone Symbol (the Green House or Red Hotel) landing on any Hot Zone Wild spaces as they will become wild symbols. There are Green House symbols on the reels but randomly may be upgraded to a Red Hotel.

This then triggers the Hotel Upgrade feature which adds a random multiplier, up to 5x, to all Hot Zone symbols. If the Hot Zone House or Hot Zone Hotel symbol land on a Monopoly symbol, the 2 symbols are combined!

There is also a Free Spins feature which is played when you get 3 Monopoly symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 simultaneously on the same spin – the feature is then triggered with the Monopoly symbol removed from the reels. You are also awarded a random number of free spins. Look out for Green House or Red Hotel wild symbols that land on the reels as these become locked and remain in place for the remainder of the feature.

In the base game, Monopoly Bring Down The House comes with 3 randomly triggered bonus features – they are as follows:

  • Chance Card feature – you get to choose 1 of the 3 chance cards to reveal a Hot Zone pattern. It’s then dropped into a random position. If you land Green House and Red Hotel symbols, they become wild for the next spin.
  • Bonus Selector feature – a Hot Zone Pattern is randomly dropped on the reels and you have 3 seconds to keep the pattern or pass on it. You may be offered another Hot Zone pattern. If you collect it, you will play with the Hot Zone pattern in place.
  • Bonus Drop feature – if a Hot Zone patterns falls above and outside the reel window, it may randomly trigger. The Hot Zone patterns then drops onto the reels to give you the chance to get wilds.

As Monopoly Bring Down The House is a Barcrest title, there’s a Big Bet feature where you get a series of 5 linked spins for a price. At £20, you get 1 pick from the community chest cards – at £30, you get 2, At £40, you get 3 with 4 picks playing at £50. These community chest cards can give you cash prizes, guaranteed winning spins, extra spin, hotel upgrades with a multiplier up to 5x, and wild that is locked and lower value symbol eliminations. Remember that your Return to Player % to 98% if you play this feature.

Monopoly Bring The House Down may sound a little complex but it’s quite simple in reality – it’s a medium variance game with the bigger wins coming from the Free Spins feature with the locked wilds and the Hotel Upgrade feature where you can get a multiplier up to 5x. I recommend you try Epic Monopoly II which offers a Colossal Reels engine and Monopoly Once Around Deluxe where you go around the board collecting prizes – both are by sister company WMS Gaming.
