Crowns Gems is powered by Barcrest software and has 5 reels and 10 paylines. Visually stunning, you can win both way (left to right and right to left). You can play from just 10p a spin to £500 a spin (with all paylines activated). It’s a very simple video slot in that there are no bonus features at all.
As the name suggests, it’s based on precious stones such as rubies, emeralds and diamonds – it reminds me a little of IGT’s Da Vinci Diamonds in appearance though. The most valuable symbol is the actual crown itself as 5 of these on an active payline with reward you 5,000 times your stake. The red ruby is also quite valuable as 5 of them will give you 500 times your stake.
Gameplay is simple and fast paced which is good from a simple video slot like Crown Gems. There’s nothing more to really write about as there are no bonus features like a free spins game or pick me feature. For that reason, Crown Gems is not a slot I have or will play often at all.
Saying that, wins tend to be on the larger side when you do have a winning combination. You won’t get many small wins in Crown Gems though so I consider it to be a medium variance game.
