Texas Tycoon is an oil-themed slot from Bally Wulff. It’s a fast-paced, 5 reel, 10 payline game that offers little in the way of bonus features but it’s still possible to land a gusher of a jackpot thanks to the stacked wilds that are central to the action. Go drilling for a big one from between 10p and £50 per spin.
Set against a smoke filled, oil field backdrop, the symbols on the reels owe more than a little to the classic 80s TV drama Dallas. Joining the lower value playing cards are fat cigars and glasses of bourbon, chunky watches, a leggy blonde sitting on a convertible car, the oil man’s wife and of course the Stetson-wearing Texas Tycoon himself.
Understandably, Mr Big is the biggest and best paying symbol. Land 3, 4 or 5 of him on 1 of the game’s 10 paylines and you can look forward to a payout of 5, 25 or 100 times your total stake.
The giant well, bursting with black gold is the game’s wild – it can appear on any of the 5 reels and substitutes for all other symbols. In fact, it can appear as a stacked symbol and fill up multiple reels on the same spin which offers some excellent winning opportunities.
As far as features go, there’s very little to report – no scatters means no free spins. In fact, there aren’t any bonus features on offer at all apart from Bally Wulff’s usual double gamble offering. Try and guess the colour of the mystery playing card or work your way up the cash ladder if you’re feeling lucky.
When we had a look at the paytable before firing up Texas Tycoon we feared it sounded a little dull. Despite the dearth of bonus offerings, we were pleasantly surprised. The design is good and the gameplay bounces along at a decent rate with the stacked wilds keeping things ticking over nicely.
If you’re after plenty of variety or complex bonus features, then Texas Tycoon is probably one to avoid. If you’re looking for some fast-paced, fruit machine style action then this oil-themed offering should offer plenty of thrills. I do recommend you try some of Bally Wulff’s other offerings with Ramses Book my preference.
