A magical woodland is the setting for Mystic Force, a supernatural themed slot from Bally Wulff. It’s a 5 reel, 10 payline game that features a Gandalf style wizard as an expanding wild. In the free spins feature, the wizard can upgrade symbols and magic up big potential prizes. Play from between 10p and £100 per spin.
The set up in Mystic Force is pretty simple – the game is played using a standard 5 reel, 3 row game engine. Joining the lower value playing card suit symbols are herbs, mushrooms, a bird, a lynx, a deer and a strange hybrid creature that’s half man and half beast. This is the game’s top paying symbol. Landing 3, 4 or 5 in a payline will net you a payout of 10, 25 or 50 times your total stake.
The Druid wizard is the game’s wild – he doesn’t offer any specific payouts but replaces all other symbols with the exception of the scatter. Whenever the wizard lands, he’ll expand to fill the entire reel.
The antlers with golden eagle motif is the scatter symbol – land 3, 4 or 5 of this symbol anywhere on the reels and you’ll trigger the Free Games feature and with it 12 free spins. Every time the wizard wild hits during the feature, 1 extra free spin will be added to your tally.
The wizard will also use his magic staff to upgrade a symbol – this starts with the lowest value herbs symbol. After the first wild hits, all of the herbs will be replaced by mushrooms from the following spin. After the next wild, the mushrooms become birds and so on.
What you really need to see here are plenty of wilds early on. Get the reels spinning with plenty of the higher value symbols and some impressive awards are certainly possible. We found the free spins a bit of a hit and miss affair – on occasions we barely pocketed our stake. At other times, following some timely wizard interventions, we managed to secure a big haul of coins.
Mystic Force isn’t the best looking or sounding slot you’ll come across – the features are pretty rudimentary too. The key to success is hitting those wilds in the free spins. Manage that and Mystic Force can deliver some magical entertainment. Variance wise it’s high which makes it appealing – if you like mystical themed games, I recommend NextGen Gaming’s Great Wild Elk.
