Zorro Slot Review

Zorro is powered by Aristocrat and is based on the fictional character which has inspired books, television series and films (such as The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro starring Antonio Banderas). With 5 reels and 25 paylines, you can play from 25p to £50 a spin or 35p to £70 a spin with the Zorro Bonus feature activated.

The Zorro Bonus feature can be used is you pressed the Zorro button which is located in the bottom right hand corner of the reels. Then, if you get the ZORRO letters across the reels, you will trigger the feature to then play 1 of 5 bonus features which are described below.

You have the Tornado feature where you can get a cash bonus ranging between 50 and 500 times your stake on a payline (that’s between 2 and 20 times your total stake). Then you have the Gold Coins feature where you choose coins until you match 2 – again, you can win up to 20 times your stake. However, you can get a multiplier (ranging from 2x to 10x) applied to your winnings.

The Wild Z feature gives you 3 free spins – a ‘Z’ wild symbol is placed on the reels at random for every free spins and remains sticky for all the free spins. The Magic Door feature allows you to choose a door to uncover Zorro, Juliana or Monastario. You will then get 5 free spins with your chosen character giving you a cash prize every time he/she appears. There’s up to 40 times your stake available in the feature.

The best is the Barrels feature where you have 4 options with different free spins/multiplier amounts. You can choose from the following options:

20 free spins where Zorro wins give you a 2x multiplier

15 free spins where Zorro wins give you a 2x, 3x or 4x multiplier

10 free spins where Zorro wins give you a 3x, 5x or 8x multiplier

5 free spins where Zorro wins give you a 5x, 10x or 15x multiplier

I personally like big multipliers so would go with either 5 or 10 free spins. Saying that, I’ve had my best return on Zorro when I chose 15 free spins as 6 of them were subject to a 4x multiplier with a few wilds on each. It’s a medium variance slot game with big wins certainly possible and more likely to come in the free spins feature. Despite being dated, I quite like Zorro as it has a classic feel to it. If you like slots like this, I recommend Choy Sun Doa (also by Aristocrat) or IGT’s Cleopatra II.
