Queen of the Nile II Slot Review
Queen of the Nile II is a 5 reel, 25 payline game created by Aristocrat. The online game was adapted from the very popular land based casino slot by the same name. Queen of the Nile refers to the last pharaoh of Egypt, Cleopatra. Egypt is present everywhere from the familiar symbols of the pyramid, the lotus flower, the pharaoh and the scarab to the music and hieroglyph background.
Compared to the first version of Queen of the Nile, the sequel has five more paylines, bet amount have increased, the free spin feature has been modified and the graphics have been improved. You can play from as little as 25p a spin to as much as £50 a spin.
The great beauty Cleopatra is the wild symbol – she can replace any symbol to complete winning combinations except the scatter symbol. The payouts for those winning combinations are also doubled. The wild symbol can also create a winning combination on its own, but its payout is not doubled. If 2 or more Cleopatra wild symbols are found on an active payline, this combination is paid out instead of the regular symbol win only if the wild combination is more valuable.
The main attraction is the Free Spins feature which is activated when you get 3 or more Pyramid symbols anywhere on the reels simultaneously. You will be taken to a screen where Cleopatra will ask you to choose how from 4 options – these are 5 free spins with a 10x multiplier, 10 free spins with a 5x multiplier, 15 free spins with a 3x multiplier or 20 free spins with a 2x multiplier.
Basically you need to decide if you want less free spins with a bigger multiplier or more spins with a smaller multiplier. I personally like the 2 middle range choices where the number of spins and multipliers are both good but it’s up to you to decide. Note that free spins can be re-triggered during free spins. Saying that, I’ve had my biggest return on Queen of the Nile II when I chose 5 free spins with a 10x multiplier as I came out with just over 220 times my stake!
Despite looking dated, Queen of the Nile II slot is a great game to play because you get descent wins in the regular play and even better wins with the free spin feature – I found it to be a medium variance game as it has a nice balance of win frequency of win size amount. Hopefully your trip down the Nile with Cleopatra will reward you with long lost riches. This game is Aristocrat’s answer to IGT’s Cleopatra which is also a classic and worth playing.
