Set against the backdrop of the ocean floor, the reels in Riches of the Sea are nicely designed. The lower value playing cards, which are all in blue, are joined by a brightly coloured collection of marine life. They include an orange and white striped tropical fish, an octopus, a dolphin, a shark and a whale.
5 whales in a line will get you a payout of 600 times your line bet. The most rewarding standard symbol is the Riches of the Sea logo which offers payouts of between 10 and 750 times your line bet if you land between 2 and 5 of them on 1 of the game’s 20 paylines.
The mermaid is the game’s wild, substituting for all other symbols apart from the pearl shell which is the scatter. Land 3, 4 or 5 of the scatter anywhere on the reels and you’ll trigger the Free Spins feature that offers 8, 12 or 16 free spins.
The feature is played out on a new set of reels where all of the lower value playing card symbols have been removed. Keep a special eye out for the mermaid here too – as well as being a wild, she’ll also boost any payline in which she appears with a multiplier.

Activating the feature is the likeliest way to netting a decent score – we found it to be a bit of a hit and miss affair. On occasions we missed out entirely.
