Head high up into the Andes mountains and hunt for hidden treasure in Lost City of the Incas. Powered by 2by2 Gaming, it’s a 5 reel, 25 payline slot that comes with mystery transforming symbol stacks, an achievement feature that awards multipliers of up to 20x and a free spins feature. Start your quest from between 25p and £100 per spin.
The rarefied air of the Andes is the setting for Lost City of the Incas – the reels include stylised A to J playing cards as well as a plant, llama, treasure map, chest full of gold coins, a woman in traditional clothing and a historical Inca. The Lost City of the Incas logo is the wild – appearing on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 only, it substitutes for all symbols apart from the scatter.
When it comes to bonus features, there are 3 on offer in Lost City of the Incas – they are described as follows:
Mystery feature – on each reel, look out for the stack of mystery positions. These can be filled by any symbol apart from the wild and scatter. If these mystery stacks turn gold, each symbol will trigger a 2x payout. Any further instances of that same symbol on the reels will also receive a 2x payout.
Achievement feature – during the base game, look out for the artefact which is on display next to the reels. If 1 of the higher value symbols lands (i.e. anything other than the A, K, Q or J), you’ll be awarded a piece of the artefact. The artefact will then be saved on a treasure map as soon as it is completed.
A new artefact is then placed next to the reels – in all, there are 5 artefacts to accumulate. Once you finished collecting the required number of artefacts on the map, pick 1. You’ll then be awarded a multiplier prize of anywhere between 1x and 20x which will be applied to average bet size from your previous achievement pick.
Temple of the Sun Bonus feature – to trigger this, you’ll need to land 3 or more of the scatter symbol anywhere on the reels. You’ll then be taken to a new screen and shown an Inca pyramid. Pick from the 12 bricks shown to reveal the number of free spins you’ve been awarded. The number of picks is the same as the number of scatters that triggered the bonus – get lucky with your selections and 19 free spins are possible here.
The free spins will then play out on a new set of reels with the A, K, Q and J symbols removed. All symbols revealed on the mystery stacks during the free spins are gold, triggering the 2x wins. Land 3, 4 or 5 scatters during the feature and you’ll be given a choice of 3 hidden objects which will award another 6, 8 or 10 free spins. In total, there’s 29 free spins to be won.
Lost City of the Incas offers good design as the visuals are bright and bold but lovely and sharp. There’s plenty of action on offer too thanks to the trio of bonus features. Some careful bankroll control should be considered though as the variance is as high as the Andes mountains!
Expect lengthy spells when your trek will deliver little reward. Trigger the features though and there’s plenty of treasure on offer, especially in the free spins feature where prizes of up to 40,000 coins can be won.
This South American adventure is an entertaining one, combining quality design with a tidy range of features. Get lucky with those bonus features and there could be gold hiding in the Lost City of the Incas. If you like the theme, I recommend you try the iconic Gonzo’s Quest by Net Entertainment.
