Paint is a technicolour, art-themed slot from 1×2 Gaming. Played using a classic 5 reel, 3 row, 20 payline game engine, it comes with a pick ’em round as well as a free spins feature with expanding multipliers. Play from between 40p and £100 per spin.
Rather than spinning, symbols bubble onto the brightly coloured reels. Those symbols include A to 10 playing cards as well as an artist’s palette and three different bottles of paint. The O bottle is the most rewarding, paying 2,000 coins for a 5-in-a-line combination. Look out too for the multi-coloured swirl which is the wild and replaces all other symbols.
There’s also a golden paint splodge – whenever it lands on reel 3, it will fill in a meter to the right of the reels. Once you’ve collected 5 golden splodges, you’ll be awarded 5 free spins. Whenever you land a golden splodge during the feature, an extra free spin is added to your total.
A series of extra splodge-style scatters are added to the reels during the free spins too. The yellow splodge on reel 1 awards 15 coins and adds 1x to the multiplier total. The red splodge on reel 2 offers 15 coins and adds 2x to the multiplier total.
The blue splodge appears on reel 3 and adds 3x to the multiplier as well as 30 coins. Finally, there’s the green splodge on reel 5 which pays 50 coins and adds 5x to the multiplier total. The collected multipliers are combined at the end of the free spins and applied to your total wins.
Land 3 bonus symbols on the same payline on a single spin and you’ll trigger the Balloon Bonus feature – click on the bubbles to win multiplier prizes until you pop the End. These are combined and then applied to your total stake. Precise prizes depend on how many bonus symbols triggered the feature.
Despite the artistic theme, you’d be hard pressed to describe Paint as a visual masterpiece. The imagery is a little crude in fact bit it’s bright and bold though. The free spins feature is solid enough and the Balloon Bonus feature a little unusual. Get a good collection of splodges and the multipliers can deliver some very pretty rewards.
It may not be a thing of beauty but Paint is an entertaining enough game that can cause a splash or 2 if the multipliers work their magic in the feature. I do prefer other games from 1×2 Gaming with Deadworld recommended.
