Produced by Caliber Comics, Deadworld follows the fortunes of a band of survivors of a zombie apocalypse. The visuals remain true to the original comic book source material. The reels include 12 standard symbols, each of whom is either a zombie or human.
The most lucrative is the skeleton – landing 3, 4 or 5 in combination will get you a payout of 90, 200 or 500 coins. There’s also a standard wild (the bandaged woman) who replaces everything apart from the bonus scatter.
Deadworld comes with a Bonus feature – to trigger it, you’ll have to land the bonus symbol (the long haired zombie). 3, 4 or 5 of them will get you a payout of 20, 50 or 300 coins. You’ll then be taken to a new screen that’s reminiscent of a fairground shooting gallery.
Instead of ducks passing in front of your eyes on moving targets, it’s zombies – you’ll be given half a dozen bullets. Move the cursor and take aim. Every time you shoot a zombie, you’ll win a coin prize or extra ammunition. Keep on firing until you run out of ammo.
Deadworld looks and sounds excellent – a shame then that the features are a little lacking. There’s plenty of action in the base game thanks to the 50 payline game engine. The only extra on offer is the shooting gallery. That in itself is fine and it’s a perfectly solid bonus offering.
We’d have just like to have seen something else added to the mix. Other 1X2 Gaming slots have offered free spins with 2x and even 3x multipliers. A pity they couldn’t sneak something similar in here.
That said, there is plenty of creepy action on offer here. Fans of the comic book and horror lovers will find enough to like here. The limited range of extras means it’s unlikely to convert many new fans though. Not bad overall then but something of a missed opportunity. Therefore, I recommend Games Global’s Lost Vegas which is also zombie themed.
