Dynasty of Ra is a 5 reel, 10 payline slot from Novomatic. Available to play on desktop, mobile and tablet devices from 40p to £100 per spin, it has an Ancient Egyptian theme which is based on the cats that have been worshipped for centuries.

Graphically quite dark, ancient Egyptians regarded cats as gods and goddesses – it features Bastet who is the daughter of Ra and goddess of cats (as well as protection, joy, dance, music, family and love). Symbols on the reels include Mafdet (the black panther), a mask, necklace and standard playing cards. The highest value symbol is Bastet as she rewards you with 100 times your stake if you manage to get 5 on a payline.

Look out for the Eye of Ra symbol as this is both the wild symbol, which substitutes for all other symbols, and the scatter – 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels will trigger the Free Games feature. 3 of them will give you 2 times your stake whilst 4 will give you 20 times your stake. If you get 5, you will win 200 times your stake.

Now, once in the feature, you will receive 10 free spins – symbols that form part of a winning combination from left to right will expand to cover all positions on those respective reels. So if you were to get the wild across the middle row of all 5 reels, it will expand to reward you with 5 fully wild reels.

The only downside to the feature is that you cannot retrigger more free spins – saying that, Dynasty of Ra is a high variance offering with the bigger wins coming in the Free Games feature naturally. I’ve managed to get the wild symbol on the first 3 reels which resulted in 3 wild reels and a win of just under 200 times my stake (from 1 free spin).

If you like ancient Egypt, there are a wealth of slots available – Novomatic’s Book of Ra Deluxe and Playtech’s Age of the Gods are my recommendations.
